Parenting during easter

Today, easter Friday, Luna is going to the vaccination center to get the standard vaccinations. For me, this is just another oddity of the Italian society, since the not so religious but apparently festive Icelandic custom is to stop working on Wednesday before easter and return to work on Tuesday after easter. Almost every thing's closed during those days, especially during Friday and Sunday.

Anyway, Luna is just beautiful. She is such a handful, physically strong as well as headstrong. But even at her worst she is still adorable, which kind of makes it even worse since she gets away with things she probably shouldn't. We are trying our best to educate her and explain complicated concepts to her.

Here are some examples:
no biting - it hurts
no climbing - you can fall down
no tasting shoes - shoes dirty
no throwing toys in the toilet - toilet dirty
no pickpocketing - the people get sad worse ...mad
no phone calls - well...we normally don't give her any particular reason since explaining the international area codes is just too much

But sometimes we get the distinct feeling that she is just playing with us. Even though we give her plenty of good attention and compliments when she does the acceptable things, we still somehow end up with Luna dancing on top of the dinner table, wearing our dirty outdoor shoes and knickknacks the little kleptomaniac just happened to "find" on the bus.
