To the workers of the world!

Soon we will be on the road, in a self chosen political exile from Italy. With those clowns in charge, things really can and will go worse than they already are in Italy. Following is the "to do" list of Alemanno, a (not so) ex-fascist and the new mayor of Rome.

1) Arm the city traffic police! Just what we need.
2) Get rid of 20.000 illegal and dangerous immigrants. He didn't really elaborate on where he is putting them, or what he is going to do with them. Marco can testify that they just burn their passports and documents, then they file away their fingerprints...then what. What country wants twenty thousand possibly dangerous persons of obscure origins? I´ll just bet they're welcome in Iceland.
3) Build casinos in Ostia. Is that really what Rome needs?
4) Remove Ara Pacis! Apparently it bothers him.
5) To have the annual cultural night, Notte Bianca, abolished and never held again. Bet the tourist industry and everyone gaining from it will be very pleased.

So it´s a silly list of things to do, but sadly it's also true. He ran the campaign on it, especially the number two on the list. Probably won because of all those $#%"% xenophobic Italian voters. But truth be told, the rest of the candidates were just as bad. The runner up against this guy, an ex-mayor of Rome, had the decency to candidate after putting up parking meters all over the city. The dirty part of this operation of his, is that the company gaining 50% of all the paid parking fines and tickets (the other half actually goes to the city of Rome) is owned by his very own wife! Lovely people. To find a free parking space where live, we have to walk the short distance of 2km. And did Rutelli have the decency to just quit politics after his loss? Nonono...now he's a senator. Apparently one should seriously consider a carer in politics here in Italy.

Well back to 1st of May. Power to the people! Rotten vegetables to the spoiled in charge.
